Who am I?
I'm Ricardo Villalobos
I am a Games and Emerging Media student at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, this is my Senior year. I decided on this career because I am passionate about games and media production and feel creative and artistic while making games and media, not to mention the pride of being in an industry with advanced technology and one of the fastest growing in the world!
I was born and raised in El Salvador, Central America. This has empowered my life with ease to understand different cultures, accept and respect others, and apply all those different points of view when it comes to creativity in the digital media world, thus hoping to make a real impact in our society.
I admire people who are honest, reliable, hard workers, those with the drive to finish what they start and whose integrity is never questioned. I would like to think that the different experiences in my life, good and bad, have forged me to also work towards these qualities as well as work towards being a better human being constantly.
I truly enjoy being a gamer (who doesn’t?!) for three reasons: love for the game, the development of different traits like finishing what you start, teamwork and leadership, and most importantly, the making of communities. I love the way that games bring people together. I have met many of my friends in games and they have stayed with me through the rough patches in my life. They are real and good friends, and all this through games. This is why amazing stories are shared every minute around the world, alongside the company, support, and a real sense of belonging that every gamer can talk about.
To bring attention to the game that made me decide on the career path I have taken, I must mention “Enter the Gungeon”, the 2D game developed by Devolver Game Studios. I still enjoy that game today! But never forget the classics like Sonic, Mario, Pokémon, and Call of Duty games that have been with me since the start and making games now is a real honor to be in the same career as developers that have been part of me since the beginning.
So, who am I? An artist, coder, gamer, a digital media creator eager to make projects that let me express feelings, experiences, and dreams to people around the globe.
